ABB PROFIBUS DP-V1 communication protocol
Data transmission: PROFIBUS DP-V1 supports cyclic (periodic) and non cyclic (non periodic) data exchange. Circular data exchange is mainly used for transmitting data with high real-time requirements, such as sensor readings, etc; Non cyclic data exchange is used for transmitting parameter assignments, operation commands, alarm information, etc.
Diagnostic function: PROFIBUS DP-V1 provides site diagnosis, module diagnosis, and channel specific diagnostic functions. These functions help to quickly locate and resolve faults in on-site equipment.
Alarm processing: PROFIBUS DP-V1 supports three additional alarm types: status alarm, refresh alarm, and manufacturer specific alarm. These alarm types can be configured and used according to actual application requirements.
Communication parameters: At the physical layer, PROFIBUS DP-V1 supports RS485 transmission and fiber optic line transmission.
