Location requirement: The RIM module must be located in slot 1 of the rack (near the power supply) to ensure optimal signal transmission and stability.
Redundancy configuration: For the third mock examination Redundancy (TMR) applications, the 3500 system requires a TMR version of RIM. In addition to all standard RIM functions, TMR RIM also performs a “monitor channel comparison” function to ensure system reliability and safety.
Error detection: TMR RIM can continuously compare the outputs of three redundant monitors. Once it detects that the output information of one monitor is not equal to the other two (within the configured percentage), it will issue an error indication to the monitor and record the relevant events in the system event list.
