AC 800M HI controller is supplied as a series ofhardware building blocks that may be configuredin alternative single and dual redundantarchitectures.The processor units (PM857, PM863 and PM867)used for the AC 800M HI controller is physicallyidentical to other AC 800M controllers, which simplifies service and spares support and providesflexibility during the project build phase. Its highintegrity functionality is enabled by the additionof SM81x, a diverse co-processor, and SIL-certified software. This enables non-critical controlschemes to be upgraded to SIL-certified schemesby adding a plug-in SM81x module, plus selectingthe appropriate software. The basic units for anAC 800M HI consists of either PM857 and SM812,PM863 and SM812 or a PM867 and SM812.
