3500/20 125768-01 Configuration and Operation:
Each rack requires an RIM module, and the first rack slot must contain the RIM (usually located next to the power supply).
For applications using Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR), the 3500 system requires the TMR version of the RIM, which performs “monitoring channel comparison” in addition to performing all other normal RIM operations.
The configuration key lock is used to switch 3500 racks between “RUN” and “PROM” modes. The RUN mode can prevent configuration modifications and allow the rack to operate normally; The Program mode supports local and remote rack configurations as well as standard rack operations.
